The mental health services community is really just beginning to understand how trauma affects children – not only now, but also as they grow and develop. Early intervention in the form of compassionate guidance through traumatic events can help children learn to process their emotions and experiences, as well as build coping and resiliency skills for the future.

That’s why services such as the NECCN are so important to our children. By providing qualified child care for families dealing with the aftermath of a disaster, NECCN is providing stability, safety, and hope to children learning how to put their lives back together after tragedy.”
