WHY THIS MATTERS

One of our families in Los Angeles shares why child care is so important after a disaster. Please watch this 2-min video.

Story of 2-year-old Sophia

12 trauma-informed volunteers helped 2-year-old Sophia and her parents with 104 hours of free child care.

We are helping families in Los Angeles who were impacted by the LA Fires.

We provided 7 full-days of free child care for 2-year-old Sophia and her working parents in Pasadena.

Little Sophia’s child care burned down in Altadena. The mom is overwhelmed, stressed and struggling right now and can’t find affordable child care anywhere. They are displaced and living temporarily in a hotel in Eagle Rock since their home in Pasadena was under evacuation and the drinking water is contaminated. She was absolutely desperate for help. 12 trained and vetted child care volunteers provided emergency child care support so little Sophia is safe and cared for from 7:00AM to 4:00PM, bringing incredible relief to the parents.

We are providing long-term recovery support for families who experienced Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

All support is free to families in need.

Jamie, a retired school teacher, has provided over 40 days of free child care to 10 families since October 16.
